The Pavement Ends
and now what?
abrupt plunge into an abyss?
or
shaken, not stirred by an
ever narrower path
jawbone shattering rocky torment
or
cruise on a lush grass carpet
caressing tire rubber
hushed lullaby ride
or
halt, forever frozen
last gasp wheeze
backward glance
